In the winter semester of 1961/62, construction of the Clemensburse first began. The Clemensburse became the new center of the Catholic student community in Hannover, containing a presentation room, conference rooms, workspaces for the priest, administrative offices, and student housing for 45 students.
About 5 years later, construction commenced for the second time. The Clemensburse then was able to house another 40 students, and the KHG-Center was built. The large presentation room and the conference rooms, now located in the Clemens-Haus next door, used to belong to the Clemensburse and were later handed over to the St. Clemens parish.
